MOTSWIRI KETUMETSE SAFARI EXPERIENCE

Motswiri Ketumetse being in the far south west of this 300,000 acre reserve has different animals and habitat to our eastern camps, Selinda and Zibadianja. Motswiri Ketumetse is in a different water system altogether as it is located in the eastern reaches of the Okavango Delta. As a result there is a different atmosphere in game viewing and activities to that of Selinda and Zibadianja. Here you can drive, walk and seasonally go out on canoes to see wildlife. (Canoes are only guaranteed during our flood months, usually from April May through to around October, depending on how much rain has fallen in Angola.)

Elephant are common, with densities during the dry (May to October) season on a par with those of the Chobe.

Lion are resident and their nocturnal roars are a feature of the camp.

There is always a chance for "spots". Cheetah roam the floodplains to the north, and leopard viewing is rewarding when they are encountered.

One of Africa's most endangered predators, the wild dog, visits the area on occasion.

Motswiri Ketumetse is good for viewing the less common antelope like roan and sable antelope, and eland particularly in the dry season.

Other common species include: buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, hyena, a variety of antelope, and the chance to spot a number of nocturnal species during the night drives.
